Struck from .999 fine silver at the British Royal Mint this piece comes from the twentieth issue of the series. It is perfect for collectors of British coins. Iconic Britannia design by Philip Nathan Jody Clark’s obverse design depicts Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Royal Diamond Diadem which she wore for her coronation. Inscriptions along the rim offer her name and abbreviated title “ELIZABETH II D.G. REG. F.D.” (Elizabeth II by the grace of God Queen Defender of the Faith) as well as the coin’s face value “2 POUNDS.” On the reverse is Philip Nathan’s design which has frequently appeared on the Silver Britannia. Britannia stands powerfully as she holds her trident in her right hand and balances a shield that has an image of the Union Jack with her left. The image is set against a new sunburst background. Nearly perfect Mint State 69 Early Releases This coin appears perfect to the naked eye but graders at the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) did find a flaw or two when examining it under magnification. That is why they graded it Mint State 69. They also gave it certification as an Early Release meaning that it was received for grading no more than thirty days after its initial release.
